![]() They quickly changed their story when we provided our UPS tracking number. At first, Electro Bee claimed that they had not received the RMA return. Newegg was good in communicating Electro Bee's responses to us. Not calling you a liar or anything I just feel that there is more to this story than we're being told. You try to get them replaced and the company immediately accuses you of altering stickers and stuff? Why? You bought a couple drives, they were defective. I feel like we're missing some of the middle parts here. In any case, consumers have many ways to protect themselves if you spend a bit of time and research your CC benefits, and most importantly, don't take chances with no-name sellers for high-ticket items. "They" who? Newegg or the Marketplace seller who screwed you? It certainly isn't Newegg's fault the marketplace seller scammed you. They will lose more than the 10 bucks in the long run. It wasn’t worth the hold time to get it back. Ended up going to Best Buy on my end, the other end had to drive an hour on Dec 24 to pick it up. Newegg themselves got crickets from the seller. When it didn’t ship in a week, opened a case. They billed my card instantly, and the order just sat. This ain’t a December 24 scenario, I placed the order about 2 weeks out, paid the extra 10 bucks for express shipping. Last Christmas, I needed to get an IPhone X to the other end of the country. Note: We are seeing some reports from users that Newegg is allowing such returns again.I have had great experiences buying from Newegg themselves, but the most recent experience I had with a Marketplace seller was so wretched that I will never go near them again. ![]() The original policy allowed the unwanted parts to be returned, but this change would stop that practice, leaving customers with unneeded parts. Newegg’s change was originally spotted by HotHardware and Reddit user HookEm2013, who have compared the new policy with the original. This year has seen an unprecedented amount of scalping, with a number of these parts leading to more stringent measures from a number of retailers. Newegg will often sell various components (e.g., motherboards, processors, graphics cards) together for discounts. The new change appears to be a positive move, but it could have unwanted effects on its customers. To combat scalping practices, the online retailer has updated its policy on combo and kit returns.
